Aero Radio Club of Syracuse, Marcellus, New York, USA

Originally known as the "Syracuse Sky Knights" in 1950, the club was formed as a control line club. It was based in Cicero from 1950 through 1957.
During that period, the club had changed its focus from control line to radio control. Then in the late 50s it was renamed the "ARCS" (Aero Radio Club of Syracuse).

In mid 1957 the ARCS again relocated, this time to a new field in Nedrow, and stayed there until 1974 (Word has it, that the roaming Buffalo asked the club to leave).
The next location was on land owned by The College of Forestry, in Tully, N.Y. In 1990, we moved to our present location at Marcellus International Airport. Were proud to say our current facility is the best in the history of the ARCS club.

Our interest in R/C is diversified, as we fly gas powered, electric, and fixed wing planes as well as gliders and an occasional helicopter.
The ARCS is a long standing R/C club, proud of our membership and its accomplishments. We are a charter member of the CNY Model Aircraft Association, and in 1981 we were awarded the AMA "Award of Excellence" for serving the modeling community.
