The Virginia Radio Controlled Helicopter Association (VARCHA) was formed in 2008 by a few friends who enjoyed building and flying R/C Helicopters.
At that time, all of the model clubs in the Northern Virginia area were primarily airplane-focused, so it was decided that a club be formed exclusively for radio controlled helicopters.
VARCHA operates under AMA Charter #4842.
